Fear

Acupuncture and everything that falls under the umbrella of Chinese medicine, including herbs, cupping and moxibustion, is designed as a medicine of prevention of disease. Instead of waiting until you get sick, the acupuncturist’s task in the ancient times was to help balance people’s systems so one was better equipped to fight off disease and stay healthy.

Stress and anxiety are part of the body’s natural defence mechanism for dealing with danger.

In Chinese Medicine we talk about qi as an energetic substance.

Stress can cause obstructions in our meridians and this in turn can cause fear and/or anxiety.  When we experience these emotions, this can create further blockages of qi, especially if the heart meridian is involved, as this meridian is related to our feeling of well-being; our harmony of spirit.

Through acupuncture, energy blocks can often be dispelled and your qi can begin to flow again naturally.

Basically it signifies that by clearing blockages, your being is inclined to feel balanced again.  Often taking away stress, feels impossible.  However, when a person is in a balanced state of mind, running a stressful life becomes more manageable.
