Why Aren't We All in a State of Joy?

by Karen Chin.

"As I learn to love myself I can feel the love and joy from my own heart flow through my body and radiate out to others” – Louise Hay.

Joy – what is it like to live, believe and think from a state of joy?  Joy can be expressed as love, love for ourselves and for others.  It can be expressed as feeling at peace or being well integrated with our thoughts and daily lives.  It is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.  When our thoughts, relationships and lives are in harmony and balance we experience and feel joy.  Many people strive for this state of joy.

Why aren’t we all in a constant state of joy?  When our lives become unbalanced or stressed from work commitments, relationship or family issues, financial pressures or the many burdens within our daily lives we slip out of a state of joy. We lose our balance and harmony.

Feeling anxious, vulnerable, lacking self esteem, giving in to others needs or wants, or control issues can all lead to dissatisfaction.  When we are in a state of dissatisfaction we can no longer be in a state of joy. We have lost our balance.  To bring our lives back into balance and harmony we first need to be consciously aware of the imbalance, only then can we work towards our state of joy.
